"Going Union, and what to do After" - with Dave Wallace and Jason Linere

"Going Union, and what to do After" - with Dave Wallace and Jason Linere

Thrusday, August 8th 7pm-10pm

Ever since it's creation on July 12, 1933'-every actor has always asked the ongoing question: "Should I join the Union?..." As asked for by many of you, here it is! Come get all of your questions answered, and nullified by two SAG-AFTRA working actors who'v made it part of their career to help others answer this question for themselves. Come with any and all questions you have, and create a game plan that will help you "GO UNION." Already a SAG-AFTRA member, but feel stuck? This event has your back too!

This will be a discussion evening where nothing is left off of the table. Everything from the multiple ways to join, to Fi-Core, to "is it worth it for you individually", will be covered. Attendees will be broken into groups and learn how to leverage the audition playing field, navigate IMDB to their advantage, and become aware of various options on branding their image.

*This is a discussion workout, with no booth time. Limit 14 Participants.

Dave Wallace is an LA-based, SAG-AFTRA actor who has had the pleasure of voicing projects for Fox, Disney, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Old Spice, AT&T, Dodge, and somebody who once hired him to sing 'rock-a-bye-baby' in a death metal voice (...don't ask).

A passionate believer in SAG-AFTRA, Dave has rejected the notion that the union is a thing of the past, and firmly believes that it is possible to have a thriving career as a union voice actor--even if you're outside the LA and New York markets! Dave has grown his business by converting many non-union projects to union projects, and wishes to share that knowledge with his fellow voice actors by going into an in-depth discussion on how to convert jobs.

Jason Linere White

Always in constant movement, be it in social media, workout groups, ADR, teaching martial arts, or speaking at VO conferences - it’s no wonder that Jason has been referred to as the “Jackie Chan” of acting. Starting out as an on-camera childhood actor in Los Angeles, he quickly understood how to breakdown scripts, and find the “heart” of the story. Jason believes the reason is… The "inner-city."

Growing up in multiple rough neighborhoods, and experiencing hardships at a levity different than most, he taught himself to utilize these raw emotions to bring characters he would audition for, to life. With a smile on his face, and a cartoon version of himself everywhere, he’s known throughout the VO community to be genuine and reliable. His rare ability to translate “director language” into “actor language” is a skill that he has helped others to cultivate.

Jason's talent can be heard in countless video games, national college spots, and currently as the voice of "Scrubby" of Johnson and Johnson's - "Scrubbing Bubbles", as well as the national voice of Lids Sports apparel brand.
